AR Murugadoss gets the Ilayathalapathy to sing!

AR Murugadoss and music director Harris Jayaraj has persuaded Actor Vijay to sing for Thuppaki.

Ilayathalapathy Vijay will render a song in Thuppaki. Finally, AR Murugadoss and music director Harris Jayaraj has persuaded the star to sing and he has agreed, say sources in the tinsel town.

This is not the first time Vijay will be crooning as he has rendered some songs before. It is worth mentioning here that Vijay's mother Shoba Chandrashekar is a trained carnatic singer. Music director Harris Jayaraj has said that he tried out a party track for which Vijay rendered a few lines and the result is outstanding.

Thuppaki's shooting went on floors in December last year and the shooting was stalled for nearly a month due to the FEFSI strike. The film has Kajal Agarwal playing the female lead and Jayaram, Jai, Vidyut Jamwal, Sathyan and others as well.

Vijay - Santosh Sivan team up?

Post 'Thupaki', Ilayathalapathy Vijay has a slick action entertainer 'Yohan: Adhyayam Ondru' with Gautham Menon. Now, if sources are to be believed, he will be teaming up with 'Thupaki's cinematographer, multi-faceted Santosh Sivan for a film!

The duo is said to joining hands for a film and that they are getting along well in the sets of the action entertainer. Sources further add that this will be an offbeat venture, a genre the Ilayathalapathy usually refrains from.

"Vijay is awestruck with Santosh's work in 'Thupaki', and he asked Santosh Sivan to come up with a script for him. Santosh is planning to approach him with an offbeat venture", says a source close to the unit.

Meanwhile grapevine has it that Vijay will be singing a song in this film that has tunes by Harris Jayaraj.

It looks like the Ilayathalapathy is all set to try his hands at varied ventures this year, that already started off on a brilliant note for him, what with the success of 'Nanban' that is still running strong.

GV Prakash wants 'Baadsha' from Vijay

GV Prakash Kumar wants two Vijays for one task. "If at all a super hit film has to be remade, my vote will go to Superstar Rajinikanth's Baadsha. Vijay should play the lead role with AL Vijay directing it," says the young music composer.  "Baadsha is one of my all time favourite movies. I still remember each and every scene of the blockbuster. I want it to be remade, with Vijay playing the lead role. The Madarasapattinam and Deiva Thirumagal director would be apt to wield the megaphone," he says.  Expressing his wish to compose music for the film, Prakash says, "I am ready to give songs on the lines of Baadsha Paaru..., Styleu Styleu than..., and Thanga Magan Indru... The very idea of remaking Baadsha gives me joy."  The music director, who made a mark last year with some memorable movies and songs, is looking ahead for 2012 with thrill and hope. For, he is expected to tie the knot to his childhood sweetheart Saindhavi later this year.
