Audio launch of 'Nanban'

The audio launch of Nanban in Coimbatore was a night to remember.

The event showcased the camaraderie between the various actors and technicians who were part of the film. The event saw all the actors bond on stage as they shared their mutual admiration for each other.

Ilayathalapathy Vijay, who called Shankar 'India's Spielberg', mentioned how he always regretted the fact that he missed out on working in the director's Muthalvan, which he was initially supposed to do. The event saw all the stars of the film share their respect for Vijay's punctuality and dedication.

From Jiiva and Srikanth to S J Suryah and Sathyaraj, everyone was present at this do. But, one person, who was conspicuously absent, was Ileana D'Cruz, the leading lady of the film. While there were constant announcements through the course of the evening that she will drop by, much to the fans' disappointment, she eventually didn't turn up.

The 3D audio launch saw some performances to songs from the film. Soon, it was the turn of Harris Jayaraj, music composer for the film, who took over the stage for his concert. Many singers from Kollywood sang his biggest hits over the years, giving the fans something to cherish forever.

‘Gun’tastic Vijay!

Gone are the days when you envisioned Ilayathalapathy Vijay wielding an aruval or hitting goons with his hands. Wonder why we're saying that? Well, the actor will be hunting down criminals with a gun in hand in both the films he has on hand!

It's old news that the star will be doing a film with Gautham Menon titled Yohan: Adhyayam Ondru. The pre-publicity posters of the film, carrying taglines like Mission 2: Paris, showcased the star in a slick urban avatar and wielding a gun. And now, the latest is that Vijay will be taking to the gun in his current film with director A R Murugadoss as well! The film, which starts off in Tiruchendur and goes on to Mumbai, is expected to be a fast-paced entertainer. And when the title is Thoopakki, it's guaranteed action all the way for Vijay fans.

Vijays Thuppakki is fully loaded

Vijay's forthcoming film with A R Murugadoss, titled Thuppakki, is getting bigger day by day.
The duo, who had earlier signed up maverick cinematographer Santosh Sivan and hit music director Harris Jayaraj for the film, have now rope in two more big names for the project.
While veteran art director Thotta Tharani will be creating the sets for the project, National Award winning editor Sreekar Prasad will serve as the editor. With such a technical team, the film is sure to be a treat, say industry insiders.
Thuppakki has Kajal Aggarwal as the female lead. The actress pairs up with the Ilayathalapathy for the first      time.

Vijay was in Kochi a few days before the release of Velayutham for its official trailer launch. The hero received an overwhelming response as hundreds of eager fans waited for hours outside the theatre for a glimpse of the Ilaya Thalapathi, as he is popularly known. Vijay later told the media, "The kind of response I have received here is absolutely exciting. I just feel like being in Tamil Nadu considering the huge turnout of fans here." Among the three, it was Vijay who seemed to have won the Diwali race. Both Ra.One and 7 aum Arivu received mixed response while Velayudham is very entertaining. The presence of Malayali girl Saranya Mohan in a prominent role in Velayudham has perhaps given more reason for Malayalis to cheer about.
